Almost first blog .......

With the monsoons in we planned to to cover some ground in Maharashtra.
Planned to cover the famous AsthaVinayak ..atleast planned to start the trip
We didnt want a taxing plan and decided to to cover one or atmost 2 of the eight places.
We planned to take the following route :
Pune -- --Saswad ------ Jejuri (40 Kms) -- Morgaon (20 kms) -- Supa -- Chuppal -- Theur -- Pune

Started from Pune at around 8 AM
It was a good day -- no hot sun , no rain :-)
reached Jejuri by 10 30 ....
The road is not great ....but scenic and we did stop at many places on the way -- for a breakfast and then to grab some farm fresh custard apples on the way .....

The Khandoba temple at Jejuri is located on top of a hill. The temple definitely is located at a nice place but can do with a little more cleaning ..( but we have come to expect a lil dirtiness in temples right ?).
The climb to the hilltop meant climbing around 100 steep steps...and thanks to the nice weather we could do it in 1hrs time.The scenic view from the hill top was really good.

Started to Morgaon -- this is around 15 kms from Jejuri
Morgaon is the first of the Asthavinayakas.

Then we stared out trip towards Theur.Had food in a dhaba.... in the way.The food was not that great...and didn't have much choice in the way.

Reached Theur ( Chintamani) at around 2 PM
